Pittsburgh, PA – Microbac Laboratories, Inc. has announced the acquisition of the environmental and pharmaceutical testing assets of Penniman & Browne, Inc. in Baltimore, Maryland. The technical staff and assets from Penniman & Browne’s environmental testing laboratory will be integrated into Microbac’s Baltimore Division. Penniman & Browne’s pharmaceutical offerings will be supported by Microbac’s Wilson (NC) Division.

Penniman & Browne developed a strong pedigree in providing environmental laboratory services to a wide array of customers. Founded in 1896, Penniman & Browne performed a variety of certified environmental testing services, including indoor air quality, potable drinking water, groundwater, hazardous waste, soil, storm water, waste water, and sludge/solid waste from its Baltimore facility.

Microbac continues to develop market segments throughout the nation as one of the most diversified commercial testing and analytical laboratory groups. The addition of the assets of Penniman & Browne will strengthen Microbac’s position as a significant laboratory service provider in the mid-Atlantic region. For over 40 years, Microbac has provided numerous certified testing services, including: environmental, food chemistry, food microbiology, microbiology, nutritional labeling, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals/vitamins, antimicrobial efficacy, cosmetics, agrochemical, mechanical, biofuel, and physical/failure testing through its growing national network.
