EXECUTIVE TEAM
J. Trevor Boyce
President & CEO
Mr. Boyce has worked his entire 25-plus year career for Microbac Laboratories, Inc., joining the Company in 1983 as Assistant to the President. He served as Laboratory Director of the former Schiller Division in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before moving to Virginia to start a laboratory, the now defunct Mid-Atlantic Division.
He later became Executive Vice President, working alongside his father, Microbac founder A. Warne Boyce, and Chief Operating Officer Bob Morgan. In 1993, Trevor was named Microbac’s President & CEO.
An active member of the laboratory community, Boyce has served as Treasurer for the American Council of Independent Laboratories, as well as other positions in the organization. Currently the Chairman of A2LA (American Association of Laboratory Accreditation), he has served on the organization’s Board for nearly nine years. Boyce has also served on the Board of Trustees at Waynesburg University and remains on the Board of a local community in Rhode Island, known as the Weekapaug Fire District.

Robert W. Morgan
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Morgan possesses over 36 years of experience in the analytical services industry and six additional years in the water treatment industry. He joined Microbac Laboratories, Inc. in 1972 and, with the help of very dedicated co-workers, grew a two-person laboratory in Erie, Pennsylvania into a successful laboratory with over 45 employees. The Erie laboratory provided analytical sampling and testing of foods, water, wastewater, wastes, workplace air (IH), stack emissions, radon, and asbestos.
He now serves as Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day technical and administrative activities of the company which support the goals, policies and objectives of the CEO. Morgan provides oversight of divisional management activities relating to personnel, quality assurance, finance, customer care, compliance, insurance, and capital expenditures. As COO, he also participates with other members of the executive and management team to prepare Microbac Laboratories, Inc. for the unknown challenges it will face in the future.

Ed Hughes
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Hughes has over 25 years of financial management experience in both multi-national and mid-size organizations. Since joining Microbac Laboratories in 2003 as CFO, he has managed the controllership, treasury and M&A functions. Hughes earned an MBA from Widener University and a B.S. in Business from LaSalle University.

Dr. Kim Baughman
Director of Development
Dr. Baughman has an extensive background in the analytical testing industry. After earning a Ph.D in Analytical Chemistry, he worked for nine years at Southern Research Institute in Birmingham, Alabama, directing an analytical methods development program. Dr. Baughman achieved certification as an Industrial Hygienist in 1986.
In 1992, Dr. Baughman joined Southern Testing and Research Laboratories, Inc. in Wilson, North Carolina, serving as Technical Director. He continued as Technical Director when the laboratory was acquired by Microbac Laboratories, Inc. in 1998. In 2000, Dr. Baughman was named Managing Director of the Southern Testing & Research Division. He was named Director of Development in 2004 and is responsible for technical development for all Microbac divisions. Dr. Baughman earned a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Florida and his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of South Carolina.

Sean P. Hyde
Senior Vice President
Mr. Hyde possesses over 19 years of experience in the analytical laboratory industry. After arriving at Microbac Laboratories in 1989, he became Laboratory Director of the Kentucky Division in 1992 and currently serves as the division’s Managing Director. In 2000, Hyde was named Vice President and, in 2003, was elevated to Senior Vice President. In his role as Senior Vice President, he actively manages numerous acquisitions and mergers. Hyde earned B.A. degrees in Chemistry and Biology from St. Louis University.

Cherie Casari
Vice President/Regional Director
Ms. Casari arrived at Microbac Laboratories, Inc. in 1999 upon Microbac’s acquisition of Gannett Fleming Environmental Laboratories (GFEL) in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. While at GFEL, she served as Sales and Marketing Manager from 1995-1999. Casari served as Managing Director/Laboratory Director of Microbac’s Camp Hill Division from 1999-2008 before becoming the Managing Director of the Baltimore Division. In 2007, she was promoted to Vice President and acts as Regional Director of East Coast Laboratory Operations. Casari graduated from Wilkes University with a B.S. in Biology.

Robert S. Crookston
Vice President, CHMM
Mr. Crookston has extensive experience in the analytical laboratory testing industry, having served in management and technical capacities since 1986. As Vice President, he oversees operations of several Microbac divisions and serves as the Company’s ambassador for Customer Care. Crookston is also the Managing Director of Microbac’s Chicagoland Division in Merrillville, Indiana, where he has worked since 1999.
He has a strong environmental analytical chemistry background, serving as a Laboratory Director for many years and managing numerous analytical and field sampling projects in the steelmaking, electric utility, waste disposal, chemical and automotive industries. Crookston is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager Master Level (CHMM Certificate #12230). He earned a B.S. in Biology Cum Laude from the University of Akron.

Mark Matrozza
Vice President/Regional Director
Mr. Matrozza, who has over 28 years of experience in laboratory operations, joined Microbac Laboratories, Inc. in 1989. As Regional Director, Matrozza directs and assists Division Managers at the Pittsburgh and Erie laboratories to achieve growth, financial, and operating goals, as well as transfer technology and improvements between the divisions. Matrozza earned a B.S. in Microbiology from Penn State University in 1978.

James Nokes
Vice President
Mr. Nokes joined Microbac in 1998 and possesses over 12 years of experience in the analytical testing industry. He has an extensive background in the environmental and food testing industries, as well as in clinical laboratories.
As Vice President, Nokes oversees operations of the New York Division and directs the advancement and growth of Information Technology within Microbac. He also serves as Managing Director of the Knoxville Division which performs chemical and biological testing, and houses the company’s DNA and molecular testing facility. Nokes earned a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from David Lipscomb University and a M.S. in Microbiology with emphasis in molecular biology from Middle Tennessee State University.

Ron Sanders
Vice President
Mr. Sanders joined Microbac Laboratories, Inc. in 1983 upon the Company’s acquisition of the Fayetteville (NC) laboratory. He has a plethora of experience, having worked in the laboratory industry since 1969. In addition to his duties as Vice President, Sanders is the Managing Director of Microbac's Fayetteville Division.

N. Cabot Earle, Jr.
General Counsel/Corporate Quality Director
Mr. Earle is the General Counsel and Corporate Quality Director for Microbac Laboratories, Inc. As General Counsel, Earle manages all aspects of the Company’s legal affairs and risk, from employment and labor to general corporate, acquisition, real estate, and litigation. As Corporate Quality Director, he leads quality systems improvement throughout the Company, as well as general risk management as it pertains to data integrity and ethics.
He is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Allegheny County (PA) Bar Association. Through the American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL), Earle chairs the Government Relations subcommittee on Unfair Competition and serves on the Board of Directors of the Independent Laboratories Institute, a scientific and educational foundation.
He also serves on the Board of Directors of Dance Alloy Theater in Pittsburgh and recently graduated from Leadership Pittsburgh’s Leadership Development Initiative XI. Earle earned a B.A. from Davidson (NC) College and a J.D. from the Roger Williams University School of Law in Bristol, Rhode Island. He is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
