Mercury

Mercury is a naturally-occurring element that exists in several forms: elemental or metallic mercury; inorganic mercury compounds; and organic mercury compounds.

Microbac Laboratories, Inc. offers substantial expertise and analytical testing services to support your mercury analysis needs.

Methyl Mercury Analysis (EPA 1630)

Methyl Mercury, which is produced by biolgocial processes, is a toxic organo mercury compound and a growing analyte of concern. The increasing prevalence of Methyl Mercury in the environment and the food chain is of consequence due to its bioaccumulative nature.

Microbac Laboratories, Inc. can support Methyl Mercury testing in environmental samples, water, soil, sediment, and seafood tissue samples.

Low Level Mercury Analysis (EPA 1631, 245.7)

Microbac Laboratories, Inc. offers substantial expertise and analyitical testing services to support your Low Level Mercury (LL Hg) needs:

  • Wastewater Pre-Treatment
  • NPDES
  • Groundwater Investigations

Sampling Equipment

Special considerations are necessary when sampling for Low Level Mercury. Adherance to Clean Hands : Dirty Hands Sampling techniques is advisable. Microbac will supply specially certified and packaged sample containers and coolers for Low Level Mercury sampling projects. Microbac can also supply additional sampling supplies such as tubing and field equipment.

Analysis & Service

All Low Level Mercury samples arriving to Microbac are handled via Clean Hands : Dirty Hands and transferred to our clean room. Microbac's standard reporting includes the replicate blank data required by the method along with the results for individual environmental samples. Microbac can supply extended data deliverables and electronic data as needed.

The Reporting Limit of Method 1631 is 0.5 ng/L (parts per trillion).

Microbac looks forward to providing Low Level Mercury support to your business.

Total Mercury Analysis

Microbac Laboratories, Inc. can support analysis for routine mercury testing in water, wastewater, drinking water, soils, sludges, wastes, hazardous wastes, and product samples.
