Microbac’s Biomonitoring Departments specialize in biological assessments of freshwater habitats such as pond outfalls, streams, rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and wetlands.  Organisms are tested in an isolated photoperiod and temperature-controlled environment.  The majority of the freshwater organisms utilized for testing are cultured in-house, but excellent relationships with vendors are maintained in order to provide timely testing for clients.

The Biomonitoring laboratory utilizes a comprehensive statistical software package designed specifically for toxicity data analyses.  Microbac’s staff of chemists has diverse industry experience and performs tests for clients in Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Indiana, as well as for projects outside these regions.

Microbac’s Biomonitoring Departments are staffed 365 days per year and can accommodate short notice and high volume projects.  By performing analysis within Microbac, we are able to offer clients quicker report turnaround times at competitive rates.  By providing service to clients in a variety of states, Microbac’s staff is well versed in the functions necessary to perform the required testing.  These functions include report writing, shipping, scheduling, logistics, proper sample container supply, coordination of receiving samples, and field services.
