    The AATCC 100 test method is used to evaluate the antibacterial and/or antiviral properties of pre-treated textiles upon direct contact.  The method quantitatively assesses bacteriostatic, bactericidal or virucidal properties.   The method is the industry’s standard for the evaluation of

    antimicrobial performance of treated textiles in the USA and around the world.

    Outline of Test Procedure

    • Preparation of samples (treated textiles)
    • Inoculate with bacterium or virus
    • Hold for contact time (5 minutes to 24 hours)
    • Wash off / shake out surviving organisms
    • Plating and counting (quantitative assay)
