Allergen Declaration

Our specialized food allergen team delivers a full A2LA ISO scope of testing for most all allergens. Get timely, accurate and reliable testing data to help protect consumer health, product integrity and brand reputation. Informative ELISA and DNA test results can be delivered in two days or less to reinforce timely decision making and confidence behind ingredient claims.

Contaminants

The safety and quality of your food is a shared priority for producers and consumer worldwide. Food contaminants and pesticide residue are a global food health concern. Microbac offers a full suite of analytical testing to detect pesticides, mycotoxins, dioxins, veterinary drugs, heavy metals and more.

GMO Analysis

Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) analysis and detection is a growing demand as consumer interests and concerns heighten around the contents of food products. Our specialized food-science team utilizes PCR-based analysis of the DNA from ingredients or finished product to deliver a quick and definitive answer as to whether a sample contains any GMO material. This information is critical for maintaining production standards, labeling product claims and protecting brand position on the topic of GMOs.

Ingredient Authenticity

Our laboratory utilizes genetic testing, including PCR, ELISA and HRMA, to perform Food Product Authentication.

Molecular - Next Generation Sequencing

Molecular capabilities allow for a quick determination of, and solutions to, various problems within the Food Industry. Microbac’s newest addition is Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). NGS allows verification of labeling claims as to the purity of botanical products, probiotics and dietary supplements and rapidly identifies adulterants within these types of samples. Fermented products are known to be problematic for routine microbial analysis as the communities are very complex.

Fermented products usually undergo several layers of fermentation and additions of cultures to reach the final stage that complicates targeted analysis. NGS removes these barriers by analyzing all DNA within a sample and separating out the individual plants and organisms based on genetic variation and diversity.
